All Roads Lead To Uncle Stevie In October
Once again, I'm doing a blog post on my phone. Grr. Sigh. My fingers feel like toes.
This is also what I'm doing:
So far, progress seems a little slow, but I know Stephen King. He's building. He *will* bring it. I've got to get my fangs (a gift from Melissa at Avid Reader!) in gear and get caught up.
I'm also reading a novel by Stewart O'Nan, the current crush of my literary-loving heart. O'Nan is also good friends with Stephen King, and this novel I'm working on, The Speed Queen, is dedicated to him.
But wait! There's more!
Marjorie (the 'Speed Queen' of the title) is in Oklahoma on death row. Just hours from her execution, she is telling her life story into a tape recorder, answering questions posed by a certain bestselling author of horror. Why? Apparently, he has bought the rights to her story! Marjorie assures him right from the beginning that her story will be like a cross between Dolores Claiborne and The Green Mile.
So it seems to be true again this year. Stephen King is October and October is Stephen King. I wouldn't have it any other way, would you?

Salem Along! I actually thought the pacing in this to be dramatic. It seemed slow and steady and then SLAM! but maybe because of ... oops, I'll stop.
