2010: Lots More Library Love

For regular readers of NWB, this cannot possibly come as a surprise. Perhaps I should retitle this blog "Naked Without Libraries".

In the upcoming challenge, there are four levels:
The Mini – Check out and read 25 library books.
Just My Size – Check out and read 50 library books. (This is the level I'm going for, since I successfully completed my goal of 25 in 2009 even though I didn't start till late March or early April.)
Stepping It Up – Check out and read 75 library books.
Super Size Me – Check out and read 100 library books.
Aim high. As long as you read 25 by the end of 2010, you are a winner.

3. Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Young Reader – any book as long as it is checked out from the library count. (That's nice about the re-reads. Could come in handy.) Checked out like with a library card, not purchased at a library sale. (My faculty ID card doubles as a library card.)

4. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed. (That's good -- new stuff seems to pop up on the shelves all the time. There are also plenty of classics that I haven't gotten to yet. My Tough & Cool Inner Bookworm is wriggling with joy.)

5. Crossovers from other reading challenges count. (Whew.)

6. Challenge begins January 1st thru December, 2010. (I'll be ready with a big old stack o' library love!)

I got off track with my reading since returning to Canada and working full time. Not sure how you do it! Maybe I need to find a good challenge to keep me going. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I'm giving your blog an award. http://amber-of-the-moment.blogspot.com/2009/11/honest-scrap-award.html Miss you!

You know, even though I'm a regular user of my local library's services, I've never kept track of how many library books I read per year. I suspect is a fairly high percentage, though, so I'm going to try to remember to keep track in 2010. But I'm the worst at challenges ever - don't think I've ever finished one.

Ambearo,
Many thanks...I miss you...and Matt as well!

Sam,
I didn't know you did challenges at all. Try one of those open-ended ones like Pulitzer.

I just nominated you for a Superior Scribbler award. You can copy it from my page....

I love this challenge and would love to join.....but I promised myself I would make a dent in my own piles of books in 2010. So if it's still being hosted in 2011, count me in!!!

Good luck on this one!

I've never done a challenge, but this one is tempting. I've seen a lot of people giving very good reasons lately why we should buy books, but I prefer to support my library -- and I do! Most of the books I read this year came from the library, probably 80-85%. I might think about joining this one... Thanks for the heads up!

I signed up for this one last year, but I'm not signing up this year, just because I'll be reading library books regardless! lol But I can't wait for more of your librar-icious posts! :D
