Readathon Hours 17 and 18: Reading Again

I was so engrossed in the Princess Diana biography that I forgot to blog on the hour as I meant to. Instead, I got 100 pages read during this time. This YA biography, published by Dorling-Kindersley and aimed at the 10-12 and up age group is well-done, with a large assortment of photographs and boxed paragraphs on nearly every page that explain the cultural milieau Diana lived in. It's refreshing to read the life story of a celebrity told simply without a lot of trash and other innuendo while also striving to present a balanced portrait of a complex woman with her share of flaws. I'll finish the book very soon (Diana is in Paris with Dodi Fayed) then start on When You Are Engulfed In Flames.

Mr. Bybee has reassured me that I look very tired. That may be, but I actually feel clear-headed and ready to go the distance.
