Readathon Hour 12: Cheerleading Update & A Survey
Hooray! I'm ready to start the J's!
For some reason, I was unable to leave a comment at Reader Buzz, but I wanted to let her know that the music on her blog had a refreshing effect. Also, she has a good idea: reading outdoors! I'm going to try that when my cheerleading shift ends. Fall is the season that Korea does best, so it should be enjoyed at every opportunity.
We've just about made it halfway, and it's time to do the halfway-there survey:
1. What are you reading right now? I'm not reading because I'm cheering, but if I were reading it would be The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz or When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris.
2. How many books have you read so far? I've finished two books. Before the Readathon began, I was around the halfway point in both of these books.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Readathon? The David Sedaris book. No contest.
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your day? I turned down a day at the beach with my female friends; that was a hard call. Also, I told Mr. Bybee weeks in advance that he'd have to piss off for 24 hours while I was reading. Please.
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with these? Mr. Bybee chose the beginning hours of the Readathon to be sociable! Then he got a second wind! Gah! I waited patiently for him to get tired enough to go back to Dorm Sweet Dorm and go to bed,
dammit!
6. What surprises you most about the Readathon, so far? There seems to be a lot more participants.
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Readathon next year? No, nothing.
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or Cheerleader if you were to do this again next year? Stay in bed longer, or take a nap in the early evening before everything starts.
9. Are you getting tired yet? I really am, but Mr. Bybee gave me a poop (opposite of pep) talk right before the Readathon started, so I'm determined to see it all through and show him that I'm one tough bookworm!
10. Do you have any tips for Readers and Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others might not have discovered? Fast-tempo music seems to have a restorative effect.

Well you seem to be doing well. Keep it up. If you get tired of reading my Dewey contest is starting in 5.
I have a very sociable hubby, too. I just sent him off to the pet store for a bew Beta fish tank. :-)

I think I am following you around on your cheerleading rounds! I have seen your comments a few times!
I have to say one of the things that has surprised me is how many new blogs I am finding! I am adding yet more feeds to my bloglines account, despite the fact that I already struggle to keep up at times!
This is a little bit crazy. But in a good way. Ignore all poop talks and forge ahead. Good luck.
I'm glad you had fun cheerleading -- it's been a lot more work than I thought it was going to be!
Good luck :)
