Readathon: Hour 12 Survey

Oh, we're halfway there,
Oh, livin' on a prayer...
-Bon Jovi

Dewey's got some questions, and I've got...well, I'm going to get another coffee before I begin:

1. What are you reading?

The Witch Of Blackbird Pond. It's been on TBR for some time. Plus, I heard there's some blogger out there that is always angling to get some discussion going about it. I don't remember the blogger's name or blog...does this sound familiar to anyone?

I'm also still reading Tete-A-Tete, the biography about Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. I'll be so glad when they get a little older! Right now, they've got their open relationship and tons of lovers. Sometimes, there's overlap, like when Beauvoir pitches for the other team. And some of these lovers get in a clinch with each other. I practically need a flow chart to figure out who's [parallel parking with] whom.

2. How many books have you read?

Three:

Grizzly! Real Life Animal Attacks - Allan B. Ury

Persopolis - Marjane Satrapi

Monday Mourning - Kathy Reichs (Although I'm not a big mystery fan, I really liked this!)

3. What are you most looking forward to reading in the second half?

Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid On Earth - Chris Ware.

Also, I want to get back to Tete-A-Tete. Sartre tried to seduce a beautiful young painter, and it was just like The Crying Game...I mean, her reaction was to go into the bathroom and vomit. Later on she gave in, but it took around two more years.

4. Did you have to make special arrangements to do this Readathon?

Unfortunately, I had to be in Seoul late yesterday afternoon, then met up with friends. Since the Readathon began at kind of an awkward time for me, I got off to a shaky start. Nearly the whole first half was reading and NO BLOGGING. Sniff! I missed you guys! I prefer more of a balance of read/blog/read blogs/, which I hope to achieve in the second half.

5. Have you had any interruptions? If so, how did you handle them?

Since I got back home, so far so good. If anyone calls or comes by, I'll just rip his or her face off. Kidding? Joking? YOU be the judge!

6. What surprises you most about the Readathon so far?

So many people have followed Dewey's and Eva's great advice about what and how to read over such a long period of time.

7. Suggestions for future Readathons?

Nope. Dewey's got it down to a science.

8. What would you do differently next year?

Remain stationary! Don't try to travel across the frickin' country AND do a Readathon all at once! Don't do any "Progressive Pub Crawls" in the hours leading up to the event!

9. Are you getting tired yet?

My Tough & Cool Inner Bookworm doesn't want me to admit to any weakness, but I took some Alleve and drank some coffee earlier and feel that second wind blowing in.

10. Any tips for Readers or Cheerleaders?

This may have already been suggested: Most of you are moving into the wee hours. Schedule in a catnap here and there instead of letting sleep bludgeon you unexpectedly.

I do like that last one. I'm thinking I'll have to get a nap in here sometime... starting to get really tired...

Dewey,
No, not during, but I was pub-crawling right up to the edge of my start time, and those first couple of hours were, well, beer-scented. Korean beer.

N,
I loved it and I can hardly wait to read the second one.

Aoi,
I slept for about 15 minutes on the train, and it helped recharge my batteries.
