BookMooch

Today was a national holiday in Korea (Constitution Day) and a day off from work, so what's a bookworm to do? That's easy! Join BookMooch.

I listed 11 books and set them all on my special new BookMooch shelf in my office. Don't worry -- the pathetically empty spaces on the regular bookshelf will be filled again as soon as possible. My apartment's bookshelves are full and nearly sagging. This will give them some relief. (At least for a month or two -- until I get back from the US.)

Listing allll those books made me tired, so I perked myself up by wishlisting. I used the Amazon connection and wishlisted 9 Don Robertson novels I haven't read yet. If you want to see the result's of today's bookish mischief, head over to BookMooch and make friends with Bybee.

I am addicted to BookMooch. It's a wonderful place to spend time browsing! Plus it's so great to get books from people all over the world. Enjoy!

I must be about the only reader on earth who hasn't tried BookMooch yet. I'm finally starting to wonder what I've been missing...

I'm a BookMooch failure. I sent one and mooched one, but it took forever for me to find something to mooch because I can't get there fast enough to acquire anything I really want. So, I'm sticking with Paperback Swap.

I heart bookmooch-I use it as a way to keep track of all the great books I hear about on blogs. :) When I read blogs, I keep bookmooch up as well, and as soon I read about a book that sounds interesting, I go over to bookmooch and put it on my wishlist or save-for-later.

That's so interesting that there's a Korean version of Dangerous Liasons; it just seems to prove that the actual plot is universally entertaining, lol. And you should *definitely* read Cousin Bette...maybe it can be a bookmooch acquisition!

I adore BookMooch and am eager to befriend you there, but I have had to "go on vacation" for the summer while I am on the other side of the country for my library. This means (to my very great distress) that I can't access my account at all until I return home in late August.

But I can't wait to hear how your bookmooch experience goes. It fills me with such a sense of virtue every time I send a book off (I am one of those people who have a lot of trouble giving away/getting rid of books, but there is something so soothing about giving a book away to someone who specifically wants it, and getting a book you want in return.).

Gentle Reader,
I've already had 4 people want to mooch from me! Hooray!

Sam Houston,
I like the way it's set up -- you can't just go and mooch -- you've got to prove yourself as a book giver before you're book getter.

Bookfool,
I tried browsing for several different things that have been on my wishlists over the years, but I think my obscure taste gets in the way.

Eva,
That's a good idea. I'll try to mooch Cousin Bette.

Pour of Tor,
Yeah, I know what you mean. If I unload a book, I want to know that it's going to be loved and wanted. Is it painful, being away from your collection for the vacation? I'll hate leaving the Korea collection, but am happy to be visiting my collection in the US.

I'm pretty sure that's my problem, too. And, wouldn't you know, the one book I managed to mooch showed up in the library sale, the next week! I went ahead and bought it for a quarter, thinking, "I can share!" Gah. No wonder we're running out of floor space.
