Merry, Happy Bookmas
Books do weigh down a sleigh, so thanks to Santa for taking one for the team.
Here are the 3 books I received:
1. Her Again: Becoming Meryl Streep - Michael Schulman. (biography)
2. The Sellout - Paul Beatty. (novel)
3. Daily Zen Doodles - Meera Lee Patel (category????)
Looking forward to eagerly cracking open the newest additions to the Bybeeary! I will do this while drinking out of my new "LOVE TO READ coffee mug, listening to the soundtrack from Moana, and wearing my new banned books scarf.
What sort of bookery came into your home this holiday season? Come on, make me envious.

Happy Book-mas!
I got loaded up with books by my husband this year --
"Let Me Tell You - new stories, essays, and other writings" by Shirley Jackson,
"LaRose" by Louise Erdrich (we found it in a thrift store for $2 - in brand-new condition),
"The Bone Clocks" by David Mitchell (I recently read his "Slade House" for book club and loved it),
and "The Invisible Library" by Genevieve Cogman (I recently won a new book through GoodReads and THEN found out that it's the third book in this series, so I realized I'd better start with the first one). I told my husband I'd found that one of our favorite independent bookstores has it in stock by checking their website, and asked him for a gift certificate to their store, only to have him surprise me with both that book AND a gift certificate. :-)
And my best friend got me two t-shirts from Out Of Print Clothing - one has the cover art from Shirley Jackson's "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" and the other is black with a quote from Hermione Granger in gold lettering: When in doubt, go to the library.
Lynda,
I am envious of the two t-shirts!
Sounds like a wonderful Christmas! I love the part about the simultaneous use of the gifts.
My favorite bookish gifts this year: an Unruly Reader mug and a lounge-y sweater to wear while reading in bed.
